From the Bouser Pfädchen, a wide view opens up across the goat pasture and the Bommersbach stream towards Elm/Derlen: in front, pasture and lush greenery, behind, the valley and the houses on the hillside – a peaceful panorama on the edge of town.

A simple wooden bench by the wayside – just the right place for a short break. Nestled among leaves, light, and silent trees, you can sit peacefully, listen to the forest, and let your gaze wander along the path before continuing on.

The fishing hut on the grounds of the Bous Angling Club is an ideal starting point for the Bous Trail: Here you'll find a large overview sign showing the route (both the short and long trails), and you're immediately out in nature by the water. It's a peaceful place to arrive – and later a lovely destination when the loop ends back at the Bommersbach stream/pond. Breitenborner Hütte – in the heart of the forest: A simple, covered rest area with benches – perfect for a short break between long stretches through the woods. The hand-painted sign "Breitenbörner Hütte" makes the place unmistakable, and a plaque provides information about supported rural development projects. Here you can sit in peace, listen to the forest – and then continue your hike refreshed.

This wooden observation tower rises into the sky, amidst the countryside. From the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of fields, forests, and the surrounding rolling hills—a truly memorable experience, especially in clear weather. A small shelter at the bottom invites you to take a break while the tower silently watches over the landscape. 🌤 Tip: Be sure to climb the few steps to the top—in good weather, you can see far and wide and feel the wind on your face.

The asphalted Roman road, which has been laid out as a hiking trail on the section from the Krickelsberg observation tower, was originally a Celtic road along which the wagons of Celtic merchants rolled. Then the Romans came and their legions marched along this road, which led from Metz via Tholey to Mainz on the Rhine. It offers a wonderful panoramic view of the entire municipality of Schwalbach, the Ensdorf slag heap, the ridge from Gau to Limberg with the towns of Berus, Felsberg and St. Barbara.

In this “quiet” spot, a tragedy is remembered with a gravestone. Early in the morning on March 16, 1907, a terrible accident happened in the Mathildenschacht in Püttlingen. 22 miners from Püttlingen and the surrounding area who wanted to enter the mine lost their lives in an accident. The shaft was part of the royal hard coal mine Gerhard in Louisenthal. The wire rope from the conveyor cage simply broke on the fourth entry without warning and the cage fell 100 meters into the shaft. Not even a month before, on February 19th, the rope, which had been in place since October 2nd, 1904, was found to be good. All 22 people who were in the basket died. Because of the technology at the time, it took a while until all the bodies were finally recovered.
