Here you can take a walk to the former house of Aghasi Khanjian, a former communist, built in 1936. It is currently not in the best condition, but offers a view of the countryside overlooking forests and the beautiful Dilijan Mountains.

Dilijan City Park is definitely worth a stroll. It is currently being extensively redesigned and renewed. You can get an insight into the work in the information center of the park. You can also rent bicycles here.

Of the two religious sites on this route I've always preferred Matosavank, simply because it looks its age – there is something about stumbling upon a moss-covered ruin in the deep forest that seems quite magical and humbling. Note that I failed to find the correct trail back down to the road and ended up in an old lady's back garden!
