The ascent via the Völlerin is a great way to quickly escape the fog. From the parking lot, the trail leads relatively steeply uphill across a meadow. It continues through the forest, where you can often spot chamois and ibex. The upper third is – for me – the most interesting part, where the terrain becomes rocky and stony, giving the trail an alpine character. The view from the top is beautiful, and it's well worth observing the changing skies and light.

The Kirchbüchl Way of the Cross leads up to the picturesque pilgrimage church of Maria Kirchbüchl near Unterhöflein. Along the way, 14 lovingly designed stations invite quiet contemplation. The path offers not only spiritual contemplation but also beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Traditional devotions are held here, especially during Lent.

Bressbühel is a gentle, freestanding hill on the edge of Unterhöflein. Despite its low elevation, it offers a beautiful panoramic view of the village, the surrounding fields, and across to the Hohe Wand. Its open location makes it particularly attractive at sunrise and sunset. A simple but worthwhile spot for a short rest with a view.

The Zweier Wald forest lies at an elevation of approximately 633 meters and forms a long, wooded ridge in a tranquil location. Away from the main trails, it offers quiet paths, mossy ground, and dense mixed forest – ideal for nature-loving hikers and anyone who enjoys being away from the hustle and bustle. There are few views, but the forest atmosphere and bird songs are all the more pleasing.

Directly on the Kienbergwiese meadow stands the lovingly crafted Trinity shrine, also known as the "Angel Chapel." Surrounded by meadows and forests, this small sacred site exudes a special sense of tranquility. The artfully painted angels and simple architecture make it a quiet highlight along the way—ideal for a short rest and a moment of contemplation amidst nature.

The Kienbergwiese is an idyllic, open space at the edge of the Kienberg forest. Surrounded by trees and often quiet and deserted, it invites you to linger. On a clear day, the view extends far into the surrounding countryside—a perfect place for a break, a picnic, or simply enjoying nature. It's especially atmospheric in spring and autumn.

The Irmasteig is a short but challenging trail that leads over steep terrain, rocky steps, and rooty passages. Partially exposed, but easily accessible – surefootedness and a head for heights are recommended. Along the way, beautiful views abound, especially toward the Hohe Wand and the valley below. An exciting section for experienced hikers who enjoy a bit of scrambling.

The Irmafelsen offers an impressive, unobstructed view of the mighty rocky backdrop of the Hohe Wand. From here, the view opens up over forested slopes, rugged cliffs, and the wide valley below – a perfect spot for a panoramic rest. Especially worthwhile in clear weather and at sunset. A short detour that enhances any tour!
