The Pile Dwelling Adventure at Lake Attersee. Since June 2011, we are delighted that three of the submerged pile-dwelling villages in Lake Attersee have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From the Neolithic period to the Bronze Age, our ancestors lived here and built their villages on piles. In total, 111 settlements have been recognized as World Heritage sites in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Slovenia, and Italy. In addition to our three treasures on Lake Attersee – Litzlberg South, Abtsdorf 1 and 3 – we also find the settlement of See am Mondsee and an island in Lake Keutschacher See, which have received this distinction. At Seewalchen lido, parents and children have plenty to do to really spice up their day at the beach! The 10-meter diving platform tempts the bravest among you who want to plunge directly into the clear Attersee. If you're looking for warmer water, the solar-heated pool is just the thing. But the best comes last: The long water slide is tons of fun and leads into its own pool – here, sliding becomes a real highlight! For younger guests, there's a cute children's area with a large baby pool, shaded by awnings, and a great playground for romping. The prices for admission to Seewalchen lido are as follows: a day ticket for adults costs €5.50 from 9 a.m., €4.60 from 1 p.m., and €2.70 from 4 p.m. Pupils, apprentices, students, disabled people, and those doing military or civil service pay €3.40 from 9 a.m., €2.50 from 1 p.m., and €1.70 from 4 p.m. Families (2 adults with children) pay from 9 a.m.

From 1439 to 1486, a new Gothic parish church was built, which was inaugurated in 1476 by Auxiliary Bishop Albert Schönhofer. In 1727 the church underwent a thorough renovation. In 1852 an extension was built between the south portal, vestibule and sacristy. In 1862 the spire and tower cross were renovated. In 1885 the parish church was restored in the neo-Gothic style. In 1899 the spire was renovated and replaced by a new four meter high pyramid.

With the appointment of the Schaunberger as bailiffs in 1249, the name Kammer appeared for the first time with Haidfalk von Chamer (Hæidfolcho de Chamer). A castle chamber is mentioned for the first time in 1260. This "Veste Camer im Adersee", later Schloss Kammer, was expanded on a small island in the lake by the Schaunbergers to become the administrative center of the Attergau. In the "Schaunberger feud" between the Habsburg Duke Albrecht III and Count Heinrich von Schaunberg, Reinprecht II of Wallsee conquered the moated castle in 1380. On the occasion of the peace treaty of 1383, the Schaunbergers were forced to sell Kammer to the duke. The now princely Attergau estates of Attersee/Kogl, Frankenburg and Kammer were pledged. As early as 1383, the governor of Upper Austria, Heinrich IV von Wallsee, was the first pledgee. The Jörger family followed in 1483 and from 1499 it was the Lords of Polheim. In 1540, the rich Hanns Hofmann, Baron of Grüenpüchel and Strechau, bought Kammer as free property, and in 1570 Kammer was bought back by the Habsburgs. To cover debts, Emperor Rudolf II finally had to sell the dominions in 1581 to his chamberlain and ambassador to Spain, Hans Freiherr von Khevenhüller. He was made a count in 1593. His three dominions, Frankenburg, Kogl and Kammer, now formed the County of Frankenburg.
