The Roman Catholic parish church of Litschau is located in the middle of the town square of Litschau in Lower Austria. The parish church of St. Michael belongs to the deanery of Gmünd in the diocese of St. Pölten. The church is a listed building. It is a late Gothic three-aisled hall church with cross-ribbed vaulting and a tower in the west, which is crowned with an onion dome. A part of Třeboň that cannot be ignored is the magnificent Renaissance chateau, which stretches out on the south-west side of the historical city centre. At this point there was first a mansion, which was transformed into a fortress and later into a stone castle, first mentioned in 1374. Not long before that, Třeboň was bought by the Rosenbergs, who allowed the town and its wide surroundings to develop accordingly. The fortified town was besieged twice, fortunately unsuccessfully, by the Hussites. In the 16th century, Třeboň was the most productive part of the Rosenberg dominion. In 1562 the city was caught by a devastating fire, which also affected the castle. That is why Wilhelm von Rosenberg commissioned the Italian Antonio Ericer to transform the old building into a Renaissance palace. This change was completed in the time of Peter Wok by another important architect Dominik Cometa. After the death of the last Rosenberg (1611), the Schwamberg family inherited the castle, but they lost most of their property after the fateful Battle of White Mountain.
