Beautifully located, with a swimming area, a large camping area, and a barbecue hut. A sauna is located in the women's section. The kitchen has a refrigerator, a microwave, and a stove with an oven. No dishes or pans. Many separate codes for each room. The owner must have had some bad experiences, because everything is full of instructions and prohibitions.

Nice picnic spot in the village of Hedenäset, right by Torneträsk. Although you are within sight of residential buildings, nobody has a problem with you pitching your tent. The motto here is even more: Leave no trace! Despite the location on the main road, it is wonderfully quiet here. The spot was recommended to me by villagers and I had some very nice encounters here.

Picnic area with benches/tables between the main road and the Torneträsk river in the village of Hedenäset. Despite the location within sight of the houses opposite, nobody minds if you pitch a tent here. Locals recommended this place to me. As always: behave yourself and leave no trace. There was practically no traffic on the road when I visited. I had a great night here. But beware: mosquitoes galore!

After Tornio was granted city rights in 1621, the city's first church was consecrated in 1647. However, it burned down in 1682 after being struck by lightning. Two years later, construction began on a new church a few hundred meters northwest of the site of the old church. On July 11, 1686, the new church was consecrated and named after the then Queen of Sweden, Hedwig Eleonora. The free-standing bell tower was built in 1686-1687. In 1736/37, the Frenchman Pierre-Louis Moreau de Maupertuis used the church tower of Tornio as a measuring point for his measurements to determine the size and shape of the earth. Wikipedia
