There are great things to do in Arosa, not only in winter but also in summer ;-)

8월 13, 2024, Hotel Restaurant Tgantieni
A spacious mountain hotel with a restaurant in the middle of the beautiful mountains of Lenzerheide. A little further down are the two cable car stations that connect the village center of Lenzerheide with Tgantieni.

6월 28, 2024, Driftwood Hut on Heinzenberg
Driftwood ball reminds us of the destructive power. Reto Hänny, writer from Tschappina: Text excerpt from “Chiaroscuro” [p. 162 – 163] (1994): When the rumble rolled down the ravine? Can you remember the dull rumbling, the shaking under your feet; or do you only know all of this from your grandfather’s stories? [...] Pieces of land, hills, then the whole slope, begin to slide, to sag, slowly, barely visible at first, barely a tremor in the branches, then, if you look a moment later, suddenly more quickly, they begin to rise up, to fall over, alders and firs, wedging themselves together, are thrown together like Mikado sticks, stones, splintering wood, fences and broken trunks, whose bare roots protrude from the blue-black mush, clawing in vain for support in the rain-shaded air, dancing over the ditch and down on the mudslide [...]" Trees, rocks, houses, nothing on the Heinzenberg was safe from the raging mountain stream Nolla. The Nolla is a stream with extraordinary power, which shaped the landscape over a wide area and taught the inhabitants of Heinzenberg and Domleschg to fear. When the water level was high, the Nolla carried so much debris, such as rubble or driftwood, down from the Heinzenberg that it literally piled up to form a dam in front of the valley floor, until the force of the water swept these walls away again, triggering a strong flood wave.

Fresh food is cooked and baked every day in the Hörnlihütte. The staff are super friendly and the view is fantastic, not just from the terrace but also from the toilet, which offers a panoramic view towards Lenzerheide ;) The climb up to the Hörnlihütte is quite challenging and the last part, with a gradient of 46% (according to the elevation profile), demands everything. If the weather is clear, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view.

Alp Fops is always recommended as a stopover while skiing or snow hiking. The Fopser Brettl or the hearty soup of the day are very tasty and good in quantity. Plus the crusty bread, hmmm. The host is really friendly and sometimes sits down at the table. If there were 5 stars, this would be it from me.

The fountain is located on the terrace of the Hörnlihütte and you can help yourself to the fresh mountain spring water. Glasses are even provided. Top refreshing mountain water. Belongs in every bidon before departure.😉😎

Not only, but mostly the adults among the excursionists get their money's worth here. Food and drink are of high and rich quality and the service is more than accommodating. In my opinion, if you want to let your kids run free, you'll feel a little more relaxed in the Acla Grischuna mountain restaurant. This is by no means to be understood as a criticism, but is intended to emphasize the quality of the hotel for nature lovers and people who enjoy themselves and who are looking for some peace and quiet. Absolute recommendation!!!!!

A must for anyone traveling to or from the Piz Scalottas. Very informal service in rustic surroundings. The range of food and drinks is modest, but fits in perfectly here. The great view from the small terrace alone is worth a stop.

A must for everyone heading towards Piz Scalottas or hiking into the valley from there. The view is wildly romantic, the very familiar service (even the little ones help) more than personal. Watch out. Hikers and bikers like to take a break here. Space is limited and the range of drinks and food is typical of alpine farming. "Nescafe" is served! A minus as a coffee lover, but this is made up for by the extremely friendly service and the unique environment.
