The Creux du Van is approximately 1,200 meters wide and 500 meters deep. The total length of the rock faces, which drop approximately 160 meters vertically, is approximately four kilometers. The area is located near Mont Soliat at 1,200 to 1,450 meters above sea level. The viewing point Le Solitat promises more than it delivers, at least from my point of view 😅 in good weather you have a great view.

Beautiful old town.

The town is fantastically beautiful but the recording where the mountain peaks are visible on this board has unfortunately been scratched off or possibly damaged due to weather conditions, it would be great if it were redone 😊

The Creux du Van is a spectacular natural rock arena, formed by centuries of erosion and glaciation. From this particular vantage point, the enormity and grandeur of this arena is before you. You'll also enjoy stunning views of the Jura mountains and Alpine flora, and have the chance to spot wildlife, such as ibex and chamois. If you run the Creux du Van, you absolutely must visit this viewpoint to appreciate its true value.
