In Lingen, the Baccumer Berg is 63 m high, 1 m higher than the Wellberg at 62 m. The Baccumer Mill is located at the highest point of the Baccumer Berg.

A very remote natural spot. A forest clearing with 12 beech trees. For nature lovers who appreciate secluded places! Visited by gravel bike, but more of a hiking destination.

Forest walk in the Baccum Forest

The site is reminiscent of the forester Maseberg's wooden hut, which fell victim to a fire. The forester Maseberg was able to get to safety in time. The arbor was not rebuilt.

The fish pond business was originally in the Reuschberge district of Lingen, where the Emsland station is today. The ponds were moved into the forest here in the 1960s. The business does not have to have existed for long. This was dissolved and the fish ponds were left to their fate to this day. No fish have been spotted in the ponds.

The Wellberg has an elevation of 62 m. It is said to be the highest point in the city of Lingen (Ems). One can only imagine a rest area. There have been plans for a viewing tower here for years, but the city has put the project on hold indefinitely. The viewer can clearly see that either the tower has to be of an impressive height in order to be able to see into the distance or that the very tall trees have to be felled specifically. Still, you would only look at the nuclear power plant, but who wants that ;)
