The Creux du Van is approximately 1,200 meters wide and 500 meters deep. The total length of the rock faces, which drop approximately 160 meters vertically, is approximately four kilometers. The area is located near Mont Soliat at 1,200 to 1,450 meters above sea level. The Saut de Brot bridge is certainly one of the most beautiful places in the Areuse Gorge. The old stone bridge takes you to the other side of the Areuse and makes a fantastic photo opportunity.

I went there and back, it’s magnificent

The Creux du Van is a spectacular natural rock arena, formed by centuries of erosion and glaciation. From this particular vantage point, the enormity and grandeur of this arena is before you. You'll also enjoy stunning views of the Jura mountains and Alpine flora, and have the chance to spot wildlife, such as ibex and chamois. If you run the Creux du Van, you absolutely must visit this viewpoint to appreciate its true value.

This gorge trail is unspoiled and wildly romantic. I recommend the route from Noiraigue to Boudry. Especially from Champ-du Moulin, the narrow path is particularly spectacular with its rocky curtains, steps and bridges. It rushes through the narrow gorge, whose green botany really looks like a jungle.
