They often dry out in summer. Surrounded by ancient Swiss stone pines and larches on the Spittelmatten plateau, nestled in the high alpine backdrop of the Bernese Alps. At the rear of the lake, you'll find a well-equipped barbecue area with benches and firewood – ideal for a break. Best time: Late May to mid-July – depending on snowmelt. After that, the lakes often dry out. Opening hours: The Sunnbüel cable car operates seasonally – check the timetable!
