Katzelsdorf Castle was first mentioned in documents in 1183. It has a varied history with many owners, including Countess of Lipona, sister of Napoleon I, Duchess of Angouleme, daughter of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, among others. During World War II, there was a horse hospital here. In 1994, the municipality bought the castle and expanded it into a regional event, culture and seminar center.
