3월 5, 2025, Col du Rawil (2,425 m)
From the Iffigenalp, a hiking trail leads through the forest and then along paths blasted into the rock to the pass. Together with the many waterfalls and the plateau, I found this pass to be magnificent.

7월 22, 2024, Col du Rawil (2,425 m)
At the Rawil Pass you are at an altitude of 2,429 meters and on the border between the cantons of Bern and Valais. It is good that the plans from the 1980s to build a road and tunnel here were rejected by a popular initiative, because this means that the mountain idyll continues to prevail here instead of noise.

2월 10, 2024, Crans-Montana
The impressive view of the summit parade from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc and a particularly diverse range of activities throughout the year are the assets of the two twin towns. Five idyllic swimming lakes, spicy-smelling mountain forests, the extensive network of hiking trails or a cozy fondue evening in a rustic restaurant are examples of family-friendly, nature-oriented Crans-Montana. With 177 kilometers of marked trails, two downhill routes and the Kona bike park, the mountain biking offer in Crans Montana is excellent. The place is a popular starting point for training rides for cyclists.

1월 24, 2024, La Brinta Ridge
From La Brinta to Roc d'Orzival the distance on the ridge is almost 3.5 km All difficult passages near the rocks are secured by chains. On one side of the ridge is the busy Val d'Anniviers and on the other side the small, uninhabited side valley of Val de Réchy. The Vallon de Réchy is a strictly protected nature reserve. The highlights of the valley are the raised moor of Ar du Tsan with its waterfall, the mountain lake Le Louché and the numerous wild animals which live there in complete tranquility.

12월 4, 2023, Madonna and Child Statue on Mont Noble
In winter, the summit of Mont Noble is the highest point of the surrounding ski resort, connected to the ski lifts. In summer, the summit offers an excellent day hike, with superb views of the 4 Valleys region as a reward. The summit itself is grassy, open and marked by a large cairn and a very elaborate bronze statue.

The route around the lake has a few inclines and obstacles, but it is also manageable for younger children without any problems. In addition to fantastic panoramic views, there are also a few waterfalls to be admired.

8월 28, 2023, Col du Rawil (2,425 m)
The Rawil Pass, French Col du Rawyl. The pass was already used in Roman times and in the Middle Ages and was an important crossing point from the Bernese Oberland to the central Valais. The actual mule track over the Rawil Pass begins in the north on the Iffigenalp, which can now be reached by post bus or by car via a time-controlled road. The path winds its way up through a rock face in serpentines. It had to be blasted out of the rock in the 18th century. Interesting: At the beginning of the 20th century, a narrow-gauge railway was planned from Sion to Lenk over the Rawil, which would have passed under the Rawil Pass in a 2.8 km long summit tunnel at 2050 m above sea level. The project was approved by the cantons of Valais and Bern and the Federal Council in 1912, but was never implemented. Source Wikipedia

7월 26, 2021, Lac de Tseuzier
The Tseuzier is a reservoir that was created by the construction of the Rawyl dam (1953-1957). The lake, surrounded by forests and meadows, offers hikers a refreshing experience of nature. The path goes counter-clockwise around the lake. The starting point is at the Restaurant du Barrage de Zeuzier at 1777 meters above sea level. The restaurant's panoramic terrace provides refreshment before or after the hike. At the far end of the lake, the path passes the source of the Bisse de Sion. The historic irrigation canal leads the water to the vines and slopes and ultimately feeds the Sionne, which flows through the Valais canton capital. Shortly after the picturesque source, the bisse crosses a mountain stream below by means of a wooden construction. The surroundings are magical: The Alpine meadows of Rawyl, surrounded by rocks and waterfalls, invite you to dream. The "Gîte Lourantze" invites you to take a break with its tipi and dormitory. The route leading from here over the Rawyl Pass into the Bernese Oberland was used by the Romans as a trading path. The circumnavigation of the lake continues along the bisse, which here and there disappears into tunnels or passages carved into rock. The path then leads back along the bank to the starting point at the dam. Tip for families with small children: The entire hike conquers an altitude difference of 140 meters - therefore a child carrier is more suitable than a stroller. The second part of the hike is flatter, with a stroller it is advisable to complete the outward and return route along the west bank. Highlights Easy, ityllic hike in the most beautiful surroundings Alpine pastures at the end of the lake with friendly mountain inn

Lac de Tseuzier The Lac de Tseuzier is a reservoir in the northern canton of Valais. It lies in the area of the municipalities of Avent and Icogne at an altitude of 1777 meters above sea level. The approximately 1.3km long and 800m wide reservoir is located below the Wetzsteinhorn. Lake Tseuzier is fed by various mountain streams, including La Liène, which flows out of the lake again after the Rawil dam. You can walk around the reservoir in a good hour. Right at the foot of the dam, you can have your meals in the Rawil restaurant. GETTING TO THE LAC DE TSEUZIER Those who don't want to hike from the Rhone Valley up to the reservoir can take a post bus from Sion to Lac de Tseuzier in the summer months. It is also possible to arrive by private car via Anzère. Follow the signs to the "Barrage de Zeuzier"

The summit of La Brinta can only be climbed over a rocky ridge with sometimes high heels. However, one has a wonderful panoramic view from the wide crest that adjoins the ridge. The view sweeps from the high peaks north of the Rhône Valley over the summit ridges on both sides of the Val d’Anniviers to the glaciers at the end of the valley, the Zinal glacier and behind the Lac du Moiry you can also see the Moiry glacier. The silhouette of the Matterhorn then towers over everything. (Source: Wikinger Reisen)

Spectacular views of both the Rhone valley and the Val d'Anniviers. The steep climb is worthwhile in any case, you can descend on the other side of the saddle in the direction of the mountain station of the gondola lift. Grandiose mountains!

Lac de Tseuzier is a picturesque reservoir created by the construction of the Rawyl dam. The water of the lake is used for power generation and as drinking water. In addition, some of the water on the Suone du Ro is used for irrigating the agricultural area around Crans Montana. The environment around the lake is very varied: you can explore waterfalls, streams, forests and an exciting variety of plants.

Nice view from the dam. And when you walk around the lake, you come to a waterfall.
