The Engstligengrat is a scenic mountain ridge above Engstligenalp near Adelboden, connecting the striking peaks and passes toward the Chindbetti Pass and Tschingellochtighorn. Facts: ⛰ Location: Between Engstligenalp and the Wildstrubel mountain range 🔭 View: Panoramic views of the Lohner, Wildstrubel massif, Adelboden, and into the Valais 🚶‍♂️ Access: Mostly accessible from Engstligenalp via mountain hiking trails (T2), with more challenging sections toward the Tschingellochtighorn 🧗 Character: Partly narrow ridge with rocky passages, suitable for sure-footed hikers with a head for heights

The Ammertenspitz is a panoramic, rarely visited peak above the Engstligenalp near Adelboden. The route is alpine but not technically difficult – ideal for sure-footed hikers in good shape. Route: Start at the Engstligenalp mountain station (1,962 m), continue over scree fields to the summit. Duration: Approx. 3–4.5 hours ascent, approximately 650 m elevation gain Return the same way or via the Ammerten Pass Highlights: ✅ Fantastic panorama of Wildstrubel, Lohner, Wildhorn, and into the Valais ✅ A secluded summit – often deserted ✅ Ideal as a half-day hike or summit destination from the Engstligenalp

It's a special place. Good for watching the sunrise.

The climb from the Rinderhütte is quite strenuous, but you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the mountains. Be careful, as it is quite rocky!

The ascent over the Ärtelegrat to the Entschligegrat (Bernese 😉) and along the path from the Chindbettipass back to the Engstligenalp is a successful tightrope walk as a whole. At the top of the Engstligengrat you have a perfect panorama with a view towards Kandersteg.
