The Chartreuse Notre-Dame d'Oujon, founded in 1146 by the Carthusian Order, located in a clearing of the Jura on the territory of the commune of Arzier is the oldest chartreuse in Switzerland. A charterhouse is a bourgeois country house, in which one went on retirement.

The ruins of the Charterhouse of Oujon are in the middle of the forest. A Charterhouse (Chartreuse in French) is a monastery belonging to the Carthusian Order. It was built around 1146 and is the oldest of its kind in Switzerland. The cellar walls of the various buildings are still visible today, so that you can get a good idea of the size of the former monastery.

Lake Geneva, Lac Léman in French, is the largest inland lake in Central Europe. From this vantage point you have a great view of the crescent-shaped lake, on the horizon the peaks of the Alps line up. Just fantastic! Incidentally, the Celts called the lake "Lem an", which means something like big water. Hence the name Lac Léman.
