The Oermter Berg is not the Matterhorn, but offers a beautiful view over the fields of the Lower Rhine. In the forest you will find enclosures for native game. There are well-tended footpaths all around. Playgrounds are idyllically located in the forest. Interesting: on the hill you will find the atmospheric chapel of the Catholic Schoenstatt Movement. Here you will find peace for a prayer and a silent intercession. The “Schoenstatt/Chapels” exist internationally, but they are extremely rare. From there it is only about 8 km to the Kamp Monastery with its famous architectural gardens.

Beautiful for hiking, reminds me a bit of Holstein Switzerland, kilometers long, lonely roads, slightly hilly landscape, many fields, from time to time a few small woods
