The Erede or "della Rete" tower stands a short distance from Zena castle. It has anthropomorphic and zoomorphic stone figures incorporated into the external masonry. Dating back to the 14th century, it probably had lookout functions serving the castle itself. From there, in fact, the view embraces Loiano, Barbarolo, La Rupe di Sadurano, with Brento, Monte Adone, Zula and closer Gorgognano and Tazzola. Between the 1980s and 1990s, a wooden crown protruding from the masonry similar to those that were once found on most of the towers was built. The other buildings in the village in which the building stands were added or rebuilt in the sixteenth century. In medieval times, in this small village on the first hills of Ozzano there stood a castle built to defend the Via Emilia and the surrounding territory, dating back to at least 1099 and rebuilt in 1175. Today, part of the ancient walls and the tower remain as evidence of this past. recently restored, which over the centuries has become the symbolic building of Ozzano dell'Emilia, to the point of even appearing in the municipal coat of arms. Inside the picturesque village there is a traditional tavern of the same name and the ancient church of San Pietro.
