The inclusion in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites (entry) almost 22 years ago demonstrated the cultural value of the island of Reichenau, which is just 443 hectares in size.

Nice tour, mostly on cycle paths or streets with little traffic. Great views of the lake. There are various good restaurants to linger on the island of Reichenau.

A footpath leads through the Wollmatinger Ried from the Konstanz sewage treatment plant to the Seerhein. Since this is a strictly protected nature reserve, you must not deviate from this path and not cycle on it. It is worthwhile to leisurely observe nature - flowers and animals - which often only appear at second glance. At the end of the path, you are surrounded by the tranquility of nature with a beautiful view of Gottlieben (CH), the Seerhein and the Untersee. You can choose to watch the people eating ice cream or the ships, which is also meditative and relaxing.

The path through the Wollmatinger Ried is closed to all types of vehicles! You can park your bikes very well at the beginning of the path (recycling center / sewage treatment plant in Konstanz) and stroll to the Seerhein on foot; you can see a lot more of the landscape there. Nature watchers get their money's worth here all year round (with varying degrees of intensity, of course).
