Despite its height of 1,099 meters, the summit of Makalausfjellet is an easy hiking destination. The highest point is located on a high plateau, which means that only a few meters of elevation need to be overcome. Typical for Norwegian summits, a large cairn marks the destination, and a small sign also indicates that you have arrived at the right place.

Make the rewarding climb to the summit of Noseknippa for a truly spectacular panoramic view. From the peak, you'll be treated to a sweeping vista of the valleys below and the vast, open mountain landscape of Valdres. On a clear day, you can see across to some of the prominent peaks in the distance.

This viewpoint sits along a traditional path that was once used to lead livestock to summer mountain pastures. The name, which means "the stone hill," points to the rocky landscape, and from here, you'll be rewarded with fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountain terrain. It's a perfect spot to take a break on the picnic table and appreciate both the natural beauty and the rich cultural history of the area.

It is a steep hike (but not dangerous) from the motor club parking lot but the view is well worth the effort. 600 high meters over 2.6km. There is a stream close to the top for filling up water.
