The road from Ollon to Villars is busy and too narrow to accommodate cars and cyclists. You should avoid it and climb from Bex. There are few cars and the views are great. Both roads join in Villars and the final section to the pass is beautiful.

La Chaux-Ronde is a mountain in the western Bernese Alps which dominates Villars-sur-Ollon. You can easily reach its summit from Bretaye with the Bex-Villars-Bretaye railway, or take advantage of a ski lift to its secondary summit. La Chaux-Ronde rises to 2,028 meters and has a prominence of 223 meters, offering stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

A beautiful, high alpine pass, with a steep trail leading up to it. The pass offers some of the best views of the majestic Salanfe Lake, as well as the Salanfe Pass.

The climb is certainly steep, but without great technical difficulty on a fairly wide path. The setting is magnificent with Lake Salante on one side and the Rhône plain towards Lake Geneva on the other.
