It's actually a really beautiful trail, but currently (August 18, 2025) it's not accessible by bike. There are too many trees and branches lying around, and it takes longer to climb than to ride. It's fine from the Deuna open-cast mine to the road, but then it quickly becomes difficult.

As a child, I was here almost every week to do my laps with my BMX. I still enjoy coming here today, now with my own children. And if the family comes with you, you can have a nice picnic in the refuge.

It's really fun to drive along here. A few holes, a few humps and you have a lot of fun. But you have to come from the open pit, because from the direction of Vollenborn it is only uphill!

A root path that is nice for MTB's to drive from the Rondel towards Rehungen over the upper Dünwanderweg.
