The Southern Marble Fountain is an ornate fountain in the Herrenchiemsee Palace Park, forming the left end of the Baroque garden axis – almost a kilometer of symmetry and royal splendor. Location & Design It is located on the upper ground floor west of the palace. The fountain is richly decorated and made of fine marble. It complements the ensemble of large fountains: Latona, Fortuna, Fama, and the Northern Marble Fountain are located in the immediate vicinity. Visitor Experience The fountain is part of popular hiking and walking trails around the palace. The view is particularly beautiful when the water features are running – usually on the hour from May to October. Source: KI
