The Creux de Terre near Yverdon-les-Bains is an impressive karst sinkhole and also a significant nature reserve. The basin was formed by geological processes in which limestone sank, forming a funnel-shaped basin. Today, the area is home to moist meadows, ponds, small forests, and rich biodiversity. Amphibians such as frogs, toads, and newts find ideal living conditions here. Numerous bird species also breed or rest in the reserve. Walking trails with information panels lead through the basin and explain its geology, flora, and fauna. The Creux de Terre is easily accessible from nearby Yverdon.

This lake, known for its brilliant blue water, crosses the Doubs River in a valley. It once formed a single, large body of water along with Lake Remoray. The lake is 6.3 km long and 800 m wide, making it the fourth-largest natural lake in France. It freezes over in winter. Thanks to the construction of a dam on its north side, it helps regulate the flow of the Doubs.

Camp Pittet is the ideal place to immerse yourself in protected nature. There are two options (apart from the fact that there are also guided tours). Either you go along the paths on your own and climb the viewing platform, or you go to the center, including the exhibition and more, and can then immerse yourself in nature - without having to cross the main street (pedestrian tunnel). The last variant has the advantage that you can also visit the observation station when you enter (code-secured). ACTUALLY It's a must, very pleasant to do, little elevation gain, done by road bike, the views are magnificent so I often stop to take photos!

Morond Lake is an artificial lake created to serve as a water reserve for the snow cannons of the Métabief resort. It also serves as a trout fishing pond. If it is forbidden to bathe there, its presence refreshes all the same. And nothing prevents you from soaking your cap in it to bring down your body temperature.
