Witch Money and Sun Wheels Characteristic fossils of the Upper Shell Limestone (210 million years ago) are the crowns and stalks of crinoids (Encrinus liliiformis). The petrified steep members, which are scientifically called trochites (Rochus, Latin = wheel disk), have a diameter of up to one centimeter. They are the most conspicuous and most commonly found fossils in this quarry.
