The northern shore of the Plauer See nature reserve is ideal for a bike ride. The route is mostly flat on well-maintained paths and leads through diverse landscapes of meadows, fields, and shady forests. Characteristic features are the wide reed beds and small bays where numerous bird species such as herons, cormorants, and even ospreys can be observed. Magnificent views of the lake, whose tranquil waters glitter in the light, open up again and again. Away from the noise of roads and motorboats, there is a special tranquility here that invites you to pause and enjoy nature up close. Several rest areas and small jetties offer opportunities to take a break and enjoy nature up close. Thus, a bike ride along the northern shore combines exercise with intense nature experiences and reveals the lake landscape from a particularly pristine side.

In 2023 and 2024 I interrupted my long bike rides here several times for a few swims. Very clear, beautiful water. You can no longer stand at the end of the jetty. Clean water and the bottom is firm and sandy, small climbing plants and no water lilies. One of the most beautiful lakes in the area, I think.

Here, directly on Lake Obersee, you can enjoy stunning views and observe the numerous bird species. It's a good idea to bring binoculars. Even the sea eagle can sometimes be spotted here. It's a beautiful spot and a great place to rest with a direct view of the lake.

From here you have a beautiful view over Lake Krakow and the NSG Krakower Obersee. You can simply enjoy the view or take the time to observe the numerous water birds more closely.

After the road the path becomes a bit narrow through a piece of forest. later across a field and again in the forest it runs in two lanes.

With so many lakes, there can sometimes be a “mountain lake”. It made me curious and attracted me. Very beautiful sight, great view of the lake and crystal clear water. It's worth it!
