Beautiful BMX facility where German championships have already taken place!

The "Volkspark" is a forest recreation area close to the city with shady paths, the Madlower bathing lake and the Madlower gorges. The complex was laid out around the years 1908 to 1912, named after the Cottbuser Beautification Association. The depressions, popularly known as “gorges”, were created by removing sand and gravel to fill the tracks of the 🚂 Cottbus-Görlitz railway line (construction period from 1864 - 1866). Local mountain athletes now like to use these waves and hollows.

The Cottbus Volkspark is located near the large mill island, right next to the Markgrafenmühle. The island, enclosed by the Mühlgraben and the Spree, is a conveniently located forest recreation area close to the city. A fork in the road leads left to the nature trail, on the right there is a paved bike-hiking path. Both paths lead to the Kiekebusch weir, the Jubilee Bridge and a railway bridge. The latter are connections to the "Madlower Schluchten" and the Volkspark.

An old pit that is slowly bringing nature back. This is used by motocross riders. A small highlight for e-bike riders. Since you can power offroad nicely. You can also ride a lot without e-bike support.
