The village oak is located in the center of Dötlingen. It is only a trunk fragment about 4 meters high. The trunk has a circumference of 6.70m and is almost completely hollow. Originally, the magnificent oak was 15 meters high and had a crown circumference of 14 meters. In 1980, she lost most of her crown in a storm caused by lightning. In the summer of 2002 a large branch broke off. She has only a single branch left with a few twigs. But: she is alive. Unfortunately, her condition is not the best.
