Very quietly located above Altschauerberg, you can only see a small remnant of the wall and the moat, which seems to be well suited as a mountain bike trail. There is a place to sit a few meters away.

Beautiful trails all around. Only a few remains of the wall remain

the trail is still there and worth driving. Was only brushwood and twigs from the harvester in the trail, destroyed is different. Only the beginning of the 3rd section is flat, but it was funny anyway and I like it better that way.

The Aurach-Weg and Rangau-Querweg long-distance hiking trails run along the castle ruins. The castle was built in the 14th century as the official castle of the burgraves of Nuremberg and was first listed in the oldest land register of the burgraves of Nuremberg from 1361 as "Ze Schaurberg under der Puerg". After the robber baron Eppelein von Gailingen had attacked the citizens of the imperial city of Rothenburg ob der Tauber in 1377, he found shelter with Heinrich von Seckendorff, who at that time held the burgher's hat for the Nuremberg burgrave at the Schauerburg and was a distant relative of Eppelein. In 1388 the castle was destroyed by the imperial city of Nuremberg during the Cities War (1387-89).[1] In the 16th century the castle was used as a quarry. From the former castle complex with a hill-like protruding main castle secured by a wall-ditch system and a southern outer bailey, the design of which could also indicate a tower castle or tower hill castle (motte) from the 11th to 12th centuries, which at this time from France spread across the whole of Central Europe, remains of the wall of the main castle and the U-shaped moat have been preserved.[2]

Some relatively steep sections on the trails, but relatively easy to ride at reduced speed. Basic knowledge and safe driving should be available

Nice trails, yes, respect to the builders!!! But the one comment here is greatly exaggerated. 2-3 of the lines are short times steep with a bit difficult bottom and narrow. But that's just S1(+). There is also an approx. 70-80cm drop somewhere and a couple of really nicely built kickers. Cool, mostly quite tight lines, fun and instructive, with a few tricky spots... but S2 or S3??? no insult, if you see it that way, you should better not tackle an S1 in the Alps, god forbid S2. Of course, the whole thing is more for dirt bikes - for big bike shred there are simply not enough meters in altitude or you would have to use an excavator on the steep parts (which doesn't mean that the builders should do it - it's good the way it is!) .
