The town of Langenau, which is rich in springs, is flowed through by the Nau. The main source is on the north-western outskirts at the Naturfreundehaus. Other important sources are Bunzenmüller's pond and Bader's pond in the city park of Wörh, the spoon fountain in the old courtyard and the romantic Grimmensee in Donauried. From the parking lot at the castle courtyard, a signposted circular path (Jubiläumsweg) of about 8 km leads to the springs in the city area. The best way to explore the Langenau Donauried is on the "Riedweg" nature trail (6 km) with a viewing tower. Start/finish is at the Nau, Ostener Kuften (near the sewage treatment plant).
