The ringfort of Schneeburg is not the remains of a castle, but rather an archaeological monument that only reveals itself upon closer inspection. There were never any towers or stone walls here – the fortification consisted of earthworks, wooden palisades, and timber structures. Today, primarily ditches, ramparts, and the shape of the site are visible in the landscape. Historians assume that the oldest traces of Schneeburg date back to the Bronze Age. In the Middle Ages, it offered the local population protection from Hungarian invasions.

Interesting place with many information boards and also an ideal resting place

When I still lived in Jettingen (2020) I was there often. Great swimming lake. Also beautiful to look at in winter when everything is frozen. Nice memory. :)

Ganghofer-Allee is a natural monument in Welden. In 1869, the royal district forester August Ganghofer, father of the writer Ludwig Ganghofer, had 56 winter linden trees planted on the Theklaberg in Welden, for which, as the forester's daughter noted... the community received the plants free of charge from Papa's planting garden. These have now grown into a magnificent linden tree avenue. The approx. 175 m long lime tree avenue is protected. The avenue was occasionally refreshed with young trees. Walking through the avenue of linden trees and having the canopy of the treetops above you grounds you on the meditation path. In 1869 the royal district forester August Ganghofer had them planted.

It is very practical that there is a freely accessible toilet facility on the lake.

The lake is very secluded, but is still easy to find. Ideal for a short break with a view of the water.

Nice, half natural lake.
