There's a steep section at the beginning, but it's rideable. It's already cool before the climb, and simply beautiful afterward. A bit twisty between the trees, but still a fun ride. Some sections lead close to the "precipice" on one side.

Steep at first, then increasingly cooler. A really cool and enjoyable single trail. It runs through a very beautiful forest. Some parts are really cool on the "precipice" (a steep slope on one side).

Gerolfingen (Franconian: Gerlfing) is a municipality in the Middle Franconian district of Ansbach and a member of the administrative community Hesselberg based in Ehingen. The first documentary mention of Irsingen ("villa Ursingen") dates from 1053, the Aufkirchens ("burgum ufkirchin") from 1188 and the Gerolfingen ("Gerlifingen") from 1228. The place name is based on the personal name Gerolf, which was derived from the -ingen membership suffix. The place name means among the people of Gerolf. The Irsinger date falls in the salier time, the other two dates in the Staufer time. Aufkirchen, Gerolfingen and Irsingen were at that time part of the Eastern Franconia (Regnum francorum orientalium), which arose from the division of the Franconian Empire (Treaty of Verdun (843)) and from the 14th century as the Holy Roman Empire (German Nation) [Sacrum Romanum Imperium (nationis Germanicae)]. The Irsinger documentary date falls in the reign of Henry III, while the Aufkirchner documentary date (1188) falls in Frederick I (Barbarossa), who was emperor of the empire from 1152 until his death in 1190. The Gerolfinger documentary date (1228) falls in the reign of Barbarossa's grandson, Friedrich II. More information: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerolfingen

There are numerous hiking trails on and around the Hesselberg. The two most important ones inform the hiker with the help of numerous thematic boards. The 3 km long geological nature trail leads from the starting point at Wittelshofen to the top of the mountain. It provides information about the geological history of the mountain and its geological structure. The Hesselberg path is a circular route on the Hesselberg heights and provides information about everything worth knowing about the Hesselberg. Both hiking trails can be combined very well. The Osterwiese is the meeting point for model airplanes. The launch sites for hang gliders and paragliders are also located there. The regional glider airfield is in nearby Irsingen. Competition clay pigeon shooting has been banned due to environmental pollution. The Hesselberg Tourist Association, the Bund Naturschutz in Bayern (Ansbach district) and the Landesbund für Vogelschutz in Bayern (Ansbach district) organize guided excursions and hikes. At the foot of the mountain, anglers on Wörnitz and Sulzach can practice their hobby. For winter sports, the German Alpine Club (section Hesselberg with headquarters in Bechhofen) has built a small refuge with lift operation on the northern slope. [11]
