This water is said to be the best water for making coffee.

Beautiful place of retreat

After the pilgrimage site had essentially consisted of a pond and a wooden chapel next to it for centuries, in 1964 the spring was captured in a well and a modern granite chapel was built!

If you keep your eyes open you will find traces of the beaver

East of the Ilz, near the power station dam and on the access road, there is one of the rare outcrops of serpentinite in rocky areas and on the road embankment, around 40 metres long. In the embankment, the pale green to whitish beige, heavily fractured rock is partly heavily weathered. In addition, fibrous chrysotile is also exposed. In the area of the dam, light beige to light grey mylonites are exposed. These mylonites were formed by movements on the Danube fault, in which the highly metamorphic diatexites were strongly deformed as temperatures dropped. At the western end of the dam there is a beautiful lawn where you can swim. If you cross the dam and follow the narrow hiking path on the east side after the turnstile for about 1km, you will reach a small meadow. There you can also sunbathe naked in peace. When I visited in August 2024 there were only a few visitors and it was wonderfully quiet and relaxed.
