Description Directly from the starting point at the tourist office in Klösterle am Arlberg, first follow the main road out of the valley for a short stretch. Then the path branches off to the right across a meadow and leads up the Sonnenweg to the district of "Gisel". Continue out of the valley along the old railway line to the district of "Danöfen". At the Winkelhof, follow the road down to the main road. Follow this a short distance out of the valley, then cross the main road and continue along the path. The path now leads you under the S16 and onto the hiking trail in the district of "Wilden". Follow this into the valley until you cross the S16 again. Now continue along the Alfenz into the valley until you reach the Almwasserpark Klösterle. From there, cross the road towards the town center and back to the starting point.

The rocks are the so-called Mattinger slopes, which stretch for kilometers along the Danube's embankment and are up to 50 meters high. They are the remains of the Danube breakthrough of the last 160 million years, when the river cut deep into the limestone of the rising Jura Mountains.

The Mattinger Slopes are an extensive 55 hectare nature reserve in Bavaria, in the area of the northernmost point of the Danube. The Mattinger Slopes form the river's bluff, which is very worth seeing with a kilometer-long series of twenty Jurassic rocks up to 50 meters high.
