A richly structured valley with rock formations, steppe heaths, wet meadows, lean grasslands and the impressive Schlichemklamm gorge, which has cut deep into the shell limestone.

A quiet nature trail leads directly along the stream—at times narrow and enchanting, at times open and sunny. The rippling of the Schlichem River accompanies every step, making this section particularly idyllic.

At Palmbühl on the Schömberg reservoir there is a free e-bike charging station with 3 sockets, marked but somewhat hidden.

Coming from the mouth, the Schlichemtal is a wonderful valley to walk through. The path is very varied. The “finale” and also the highlight is of course the section in the gorge.

A little-known watercourse that descends from the Alb after a good 30 km and ends in a finale furiosum. The short section of the gorge alone is worth the journey. Preferably from Epfendorf, either over the Kapf and the plateau or through the valley along the Schlichem. You don't do anything wrong. Unless you forget your bathing suit and picnic equipment in summer
