Very idyllically situated lake. Worth a visit or at least a detour if you are driving in the region. Great beer garden with a view of the lake.

Nice bike ride, we drove downstream on the Isar river on the left side through the English Garden until we reached the Isarsteg Unterföhring. There we crossed the Isar and then turned right about 300 m upstream again, then at the next opportunity turned left up the small mountain and towards the reservoir. So we drove the tour the other way around.

From here you can explore the flora and fauna of the reservoir.

The path on the dam along the north side of the lake, between the BMW test track and the water, is only open to pedestrians and cyclists on Sundays. The reservoir is not a swimming lake.
