THE INSCRIPTION OF THE CROSS AT THE FOOT OF THE “WITCHES’ MOUNTAIN” AS IT IS CALLED BY THE PEOPLE READS: IN 1750 GOD HAD THIS CROSS ERECTED IN HONOR BY JOHAN JACOB KOL AND ANNA GERDRUDA KOLIN, HIS HOUSEWIFE OF FLÖRSHEIM

A visit to the former gravel pits is worthwhile for the whole family.

Wonderful gravel route with a view of the old gravel pits where semi-wild goats and donkeys live. Sometimes you see them too.

A beautiful facility between Hattersheim and Okriftel. Even at the end of October, some plants were still flowering

Great vantage point of the Weilbach gravel pits. If you're lucky, the goats are very close.

Very interesting and quite rare - a historical memorial cross dedicated to the victims of the former witch trials - next to it a newer information board with the names of the local victims.
