The Eisbach and Schwabinger Bach are two artificially created waterways in Munich's English Garden, fed by the Isar River. The Eisbach is best known for its famous standing wave, considered a unique urban surfing spot. The Schwabinger Bach flows through the northern part of the English Garden and is a popular place for walking, relaxing, and water sports. Both streams contribute significantly to the park's recreational and natural atmosphere.

Following a tragic accident, it is currently closed (June 2025). The Eisbachwelle is a standing wave in the Eisbach River at the southern edge of the English Garden and is known worldwide as an urban surfing spot. People have been surfing there since the 1970s – right in the city center and throughout the year. The approximately one-meter-high wave was created by technical installations in the stream and has been modified over time to ensure it is permanently surfable. Today, the Eisbachwelle is a popular meeting place for surfers and spectators and symbolizes Munich's sporting diversity.

Very nice section of the route, here you drive directly on the water, if you can, you should plan this route, you will be amazed. My unreserved recommendation.

A must for all visitors to Munich. Easier to reach by bike via the English Garden. You don't have to drive along the noisy Prinzregentenstrasse. always nice to walk or cycle through the Würmtal ... but prefer to cycle during the week and not at the weekend (it's quite crowded here)

Great trails wherever you look, due to the many leaves, some are difficult to find and drive.

A wonderful place, quiet and idyllic.
