As the owner and operator of the Oberhof sports facilities, the Thuringian Winter Sports Center Association with the Thuringian Olympic Training Center is responsible for providing the conditions for Thuringia's elite and junior athletes in seven Olympic winter sports disciplines. The Thuringian Winter Sports Center hosts the skiing disciplines of biathlon, cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, and ski jumping, as well as the three runner disciplines of bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton. Historic ski jump that is now used as the finish line for the IXS Downhill Cup in Ilmenau. Mind you: The timing is only at the bottom of the hill, so that the drivers shoot over the jump at the top and then try to get down the ramp as quickly as possible. Just crazy to watch every time.
