Historical quarry The former quarry in Lindelbach ("Lützelbruch") is a historical monument. Stones were quarried here until 1985. It is an impressive scenic and geological attraction. You can see the rock structure, the ashlar limestone with its fissures, the "primeval sea floor" - the floor of the prehistoric shallow sea, as well as some technical evidence such as gripping tools, parts of lorries and the industrial monument derrick crane. This quarry provided material for many famous buildings, including the shell limestone cladding of the Berlin Olympic Stadium. Source: Information board at the site
