The island pond is part of the former park of the Hessen-Philippsthal family. Unfortunately, there's a lack of funds to improve the renovation. The kiosk is worth a visit, though. Delicious cakes.

This observation post is located right next to a pond, so the viewing windows are very small. Unfortunately, vegetation here and there prevents perfect observation, but if you have enough patience, you can watch the birds up close. On the outside there are plenty of information boards about all the inhabitants of this landscape.

There is a small natural barbecue area directly behind the island pond. At the edge of the forest you can refresh yourself with fresh spring water at a beautiful wooden fountain.

A wonderful place for bird watching

The "hide" was built especially for people with disabilities. It offers ground-level access and plenty of space to move around and observe. If you want to see the karst spring bubbling, you should hike along here in spring after rainy or snowy days. Then you will see a unique sight. However, this occurs very rarely.

If you want to find water at this spring, you should come here during rainy times. This spring only supplies water after heavy or heavy rainfall. Otherwise it is dry, as is the stream bed of the Rendatalgraben.
