Sittard에 위치한 Watersley는 국내 및 국제 엘리트 스포츠 인재 개발을 위한 독특하고 활기찬 주거 캠퍼스인 Watersley Sports & Talentpark으로 변모한 역사적인 영지입니다. 이 단지는 Sittard의 남동쪽 가장자리에 위치하며, Kollenberg 기슭 바로 옆과 Limburg의 자연 속에 자리 잡고 있습니다. 1752년 Loyens-Delhougne 가문의 사냥 별장으로 시작되었습니다. 1876년부터 1967년까지 프란치스코회 수도원 단지로 사용되었으며, 특징적인 예배당, 측면 날개 및 추가 층이 건설되었습니다. 수십 년간 요양 시설로 사용된 후, 이 영지는 2019년부터 Limburg 주의 소유가 되었으며 현재의 혁신적인 스포츠 캠퍼스로 용도가 변경되었습니다.

Former hunting lodge, then monastery and elderly care facility and currently (2022) campus for international sports talent. Huis Watersley was built in the mid-18th century as a hunting lodge for the Maastricht family Loyens-Delhougne. In 1876, it passed to a German monastic order and was sold shortly afterwards to a Franciscan Order, who extensively renovated the building to establish a grammar school. In the centuries that followed, Huis Watersley was further expanded and added to, until the Paulus Foundation (later Stichting Pergamijn) housed care for people with intellectual disabilities in the stately building in 1967, after which they also decided to sell it again after a merger. Finding a new purpose for the 30-hectare site, which includes the former monastery with monastery chapel, various homes and an apartment building, was not easy, but with the establishment and expansion of an international campus for sports talent, the beautiful domain has found a future again. On the estate you will find challenging and beautiful MTB trails.
