The Kissinger Höhe is a waste dump from the former Heinrich-Robert mine. The waste dump has an area of 39 hectares and a maximum height of 55 m above the surrounding area or 112.3 m above sea level. Today the dump is owned by the Ruhr Regional Association and serves as a viewing point on the Route of Industrial Heritage.

Mining has shaped the region. Here is a holdover. The tower is a landmark of Bönen and can be seen from afar. You can always orientate yourself from a distance using the tower.

(Status 05/15/21) Unfortunately, 1/3 of the middle section of the Funkturm Trail is absolutely impassable... bike shoulders are the order of the day! All the trees were felled or knocked over by the storm and lie all over the trail, no chance of getting through!
