The Teufelsgraben is a striking ground monument that extends over the entire Leibnitzer Feld and is still well preserved in some sections as a wall-ditch system. An excavation in 2005 by the Kulturpark Hengist association and extensive investigations provided evidence that the ditch was built in late antiquity between 380 and 430/450 AD. Devil's Trench Mystery For centuries no one knew what the Teufelsgraben was dug for. It is a 3.9 km long wall and ditch facility that closes off the Leibnitzer Feld in the north between the two rivers Laßnitz in the west and Mur in the east. The ditch runs almost horizontally (282.5–284 m above sea level) across the Leibnitzer Feld in two almost straight sections that meet at an obtuse angle. Historical fallacies... The Teufelsgraben has been known to scholars for 150 years and was mostly considered to be a 10th-century structure whose function was unclear or disputed. Recent investigations have now provided evidence that the construction of the ditch goes back to late antiquity, to the years between 380 and 430/450 AD. In the course of an excavation in 2005, charcoal chips were recovered, which made radiocarbon dating possible.

According to tradition, the spring water of the Annabrunn Chapel is said to have a healing effect on eye diseases. In southern Styria, the healing spring is also called Annabründl. The Annabrunn Chapel looks back on a long history. A chapel is said to have been built on this site as early as the 17th century by nuns from Judenbürg who settled on the Kogelberg. In 1730 this chapel was officially mentioned for the first time. At that time there was a wooden tower above the fountain room, which was adjoined by a small altar room. In 1856, Johann Fuchs from Leibnitz built an addition, which, however, was removed at the end of the First World War along with a dozen sandstone figures. The special power of the chapel is attributed in particular to the event around 1890, when the then 13-year-old Hedwig Pratter from Tillmitsch appeared to mother Anna and cured her eye problems. In 1955 the municipal chapel committee was founded with the aim of general renovation and further permanent support together with the population. In 1957 the Annabrunn Chapel passed from the owner at the time, Paul Krischan, to the sovereignty of the community. In 1997 the chapel was completely renovated, financed by a building block campaign and the active help of the population. In 2014, the Annabrunn Chapel received its new roof, made possible by many volunteers. The area of the chapel is freely accessible all year round. Arrival: Ideally via the GEO coordinates listed below, as the chapel itself does not have a unique house number and the new street name "Annabrunnweg" is not yet recognized by all navigation systems. The easiest way to find the source is to use your navigation system to select the Grottenhof Nature Park Center as your destination. But you drive past the Grottenhof building and after a short time you come to a very small roundabout where you drive in the direction of Hotel Restaurant Staribacher. After about 500 meters there is a fork where you keep to the right. From here the path is marked.

Here the Laßnitz flows into the Sulm and there are nice opportunities (at least) to refresh your legs or to take a longer break!

The Sulmbad Zur Steinernen Wehr, the oldest river bath in Styria, is an insider tip. Here visitors can cool off in the cool waters of the Sulm. This bath is a natural opportunity for young and old to swim, play or just relax. The Sulmbad was built in 1929 by Franz Pratter Senior and was well attended right from the start. In 1948 there was even a water tower with a slide, where young bathers pumped the water up by hand. In 1996, Franz Pratter Junior and his wife took over the entire river pool, adapted it and renovated it. In addition to bathing opportunities, the Flussbad zur Steinernen Wehr, according to its own information, offers river jumping, football & volleyball, slackline, table tennis, canoeing, campfires and camping. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
