The Markbachjoch is located at an altitude of 1500 meters. The ride with the 8-person gondola from the valley station in Niedereau center takes only 8 minutes. (Free with the WildschönauCard) Various hikes start from the mountain station. For those who want to take a short walk, a walk to the small Markbachjoch church (Markbachjochkapelle) is a good option. The Markbachjoch offers a beautiful view of the Wildschönau valley, the Wilder Kaiser with its steep mountains and the Rofan Mountains.
