The Tappenkarseehütte is located just above the lake of the same name and is an ÖAV hut. In summer, it's a popular destination, including for overnight stays. We even managed to get a spot in the camp at short notice, but it was completely full. Because it was so crowded, everything felt a bit like a mass processing operation. Unfortunately, we didn't get the famous Kaiserschmarrn in the evening either; it's only available during the day. There are few vegetarian options, and no (posted) mountaineering food.

From the Frido Kordonhütte (1,649 m) to the summit of the Stubeck (2,370 m) The Stubeck is located in the Lieser-Maltatal region in the Ankogel group in Carinthia. At the summit there is a wonderful view of the Malta Valley as far as the Hohe Tauern, the Nockberge and, in the south, the Karawanken and the Julian Alps. A leisurely, moderately difficult hike that is also ideal with children! (Source Bergfex)

In the western ascent, a ca. 70 m high chimney secured with a wire rope has to be climbed on the summit massif, which is a special highlight.

The summit of the Mosermandl can be reached via the south ridge or via the Westweg (from the Franz Fischer Hut via the Windischscharte ridge). Westweg: Once you've passed the scree cone at the foot of the Mosermandel summit massif, you reach a chimney (similar to a via ferrata with a difficulty of A/B), approximately 70 m high, which is very well secured with wire ropes. This leads almost directly to the summit. The chimney doesn't require any special stamina or arm strength, and climbing it is a lot of fun. Nevertheless, caution and respect for the mountain are advised, especially if you don't have a via ferrata set with you. About 2 km away is the summit of the Faulkogel, which presents a very similar challenge. Here, too, there's a chimney in the summit area, approximately 50 m high, secured with a steel cable, which you have to climb.
