Behind the Isar springs you can cycle much further into the Karwendel Mountains, but it gets steeper and more gravelly, so be sure to take a mountain bike with good brakes and leave your luggage down below.

Since we drove the Isar from the headwaters to the mouth, this was of course the start. The only way to get to this place is on foot. But it's only a few meters. A normal trekking bike is sufficient for this tour in the headwaters.
