The Neptune Fountain is located directly in front of the Rosegger elementary and middle school in Ried and is a popular spot for young and old.

Nestled in a green park with shady benches, the fountain invites you to linger and observe. At its center is a figure of the Roman sea god Neptune – with a trident and a slightly grim gaze, as if watching over the goings-on in the schoolyard. The fountain has been restored and is now bubbling merrily once again – much to the delight of walkers, students, and pigeons, who use it as a stylish place to drink. Right next door is the promenade playground, making the place particularly family-friendly.

The Kneipp Aktiv Club Ried has been active for many years and has promoted health, exercise and awareness of nature – in keeping with the five Kneipp pillars: water, exercise, nutrition, medicinal plants and lifestyle.

The Herrengarten is a beautiful historic garden located right in the town center. The well-maintained grounds invite you to stroll and linger, offering an idyllic atmosphere with ancient trees and artfully landscaped paths. A visit is especially worthwhile for nature and garden lovers! 🌿😊

A nice place for a rest

If you want to see it for yourself, you can try one of the many bike tours around Mehrnbach that lead past it. For example, you can do the tour Hauptplatz Ried - Monolith on Rieder Strasse, which is 35.4 kilometers long and moderately difficult. Or you can do the tour [Mittermoos Gurten - Monolith an der Rieder Straße], which is 26.4 kilometers long and is also moderately difficult.

There are two highlights.

The chapel itself is not visible from the cycle path and you have to walk a few steps in the direction of the Inn.
