Completely lonely in winter - and frozen.

Beautiful mountain for a short afternoon tour from the Emberger Alm. When the weather is clear, the Ankogel and Hochalmspitze greet you over the Kreuzeck group, and the view to the south is fantastic.

The Naßfeldriegel, 500 meters above the Emberger Alm, is the ideal destination for a short and enjoyable hike. The botanists will be particularly enthusiastic. A wide variety of dwarf shrubs (Almrausch, heather, cranberries), gentian, Scheuchzer cotton grass in damp places and many other plants thrive here. A beautiful destination above the Leppner Alm in both summer and winter. Ideal for hikes with children in summer

Beautiful alpine pasture on a fantastic high plateau beneath the Jauken. Access from 1.6. - 30.9. possible via a single-lane gravel road (with detours) approximately 10 kilometers long. Otherwise on foot via a path from Goldberg, Marienkapelle, climb about 2.5 hours. On the alpine pasture there is a Brettljause (very nice, good and large, with regional products) and drinks.

Shortly after Pentecost there is not much going on here. In 2023 the path from the Emberger Alm was free of snow. We were at the summit for 1 hour and three people passed by in that time.

The gorge is accessible again - helmets are compulsory ... and with the steep walls and the risk of falling stones I would also recommend wearing a helmet. As guests at the campsite, we borrowed the protective helmets free of charge from the Alpen-Camp campsite in Kötschach.

The Mauthner Gorge has been accessible again since July 2022. There are safety instructions such as wearing helmets, no entry in windy and heavy rain and the recommendation not to take children over the age of 10.
