Those who venture out to view Lake Wörthersee not just from the shore, but from above, are rewarded halfway up – not with a loud panorama, but with a quiet invitation. Two wooden loungers, weathered and tilted, as if they had thought their way through the years, stand among roots and moss, as if they already knew that here, it's not about design, but about simply being. The structure: slanted. The view: even more slanted. And precisely for that reason, so precious. Those who sit down do so not to sunbathe, but to sink in. Into the silence among the trees. Into the shimmering blue of the lake, which emerges between the trunks like a memory. The benches don't speak. At most, they creak. But they tell stories. Of hikers who paused briefly. Of conversations that were held – or avoided – here. Of people who wanted to contemplate the lake, not photograph it. You stay longer than planned. You say less than you thought you would. And you leave with the feeling that someone up there in the forest has thought of everything – even rest.

The route to the waterfall is largely unmarked. The village of Kalmusbad serves as a guide.

On the eastern shore of Lake Wörthersee, between the Lend Canal and Maiernigg, lies a very special piece of nature.
