On the way from Gramastetten in the direction of Lichtenberg/Koglerau, there is only one alternative to the official MTB route. At the bottom of the stream, a steep, rough forest path branches off - so you have to face the technical challenge on both paths. After rainfall, the ground naturally softens again. If necessary, you have to push a few meters.

Uphill the carpet of roots is a small challenge

The Mayrwiese ("Moarwiese") from the Pöstlingberg is better known from the winter. But even in the dry season, it offers a beautiful "downhill run" for bikes and, above all, many vantage points on Urfahr and then in the middle towards the center of Linz. Downhill great - up: no thanks - much too tedious even with an eBike 😅

At the moment (June 2023) the root path is great to drive!

I'm an e-MTB newbie and rode from Gramastetten towards Linz today. I didn't go down the root trail but up, so to speak uphill. Was extremely tiring for me. Sometimes the ground was very soft and there were a lot of roots that protruded several centimeters from the ground. From the other side (downhill), the trail is certainly much better to drive, but you should slow down a bit because there are some tripping hazards. Even if I tw. Gasping because I ran out of air in the steep uphill terrain it was a great experience.
